» Specialist Dust Cleaning Booths

This versatile booth is designed for cleaning very dusty items of plant with complete operator safety and ensuring a dust free atmosphere in the workshop. Items are placed in the booth on special trolleys and the door closed. The recirculation extraction system then ensured that all the dust liberated is collected and trapped in the collection bin. Dust is blown off the plant items by using a high pressure compressed air gun inside the cabinet, the operator uses the built in gloves which seal the cabinet. » Train Window Supports

This device was designed and manufactured by Harmill Systems to make cleaning the inner surfaces of double glazed windows a safe and easy one person job. Previously one person held the window whilst the other cleaned. The device is simple to operate, lightweight and robust.

» Tripcock Testers

This specialist device was designed and built for Tubelines Limited using a previous design as a basis and applying new ideas and modern machining to produce a product to stand up to the harsh railway environment. The design was solid modelled using our CAD system so that the customer had a realistic view before any production took place. Here you can see the "raceway" which guides the tester under the train to test the tripcock.

Turnkey projects such as this 140 metre long dust extraction tunnel are a Harmill speciality. This project was taken from inception through design and build to final commissioning and handover. Dust is generated when servicing the traction motors and carriage ventilation systems, this is collected in the air stream which is drawn down the length of the enclosure by the 110 kW fan outside the building...Dust is separated in the 4 banks of reverse jet filters containing 240 separate filter cartridges.

A sophisticated control system monitors the operative's environment and ensures that dust levels are always kept at safe levels.The main fan is inverter controlled to ensure optimum performance and minimum energy costs.

This platform is designed to safely access the front of the train for cleaning and maintenance.It is manufactured from aluminium structural sections and so is light to manoeuvre and has wheel both for running rails and hard standing. The large double wheels will not get jammed in rail slots when crossing aprons etc
